About the Role

Weld and fabricate a variety of projects per given prints/instructions. Use all available resources/tools as necessary to effectively and accurately build products. Work with team members and utilize creative problem solving to accomplish daily tasks. Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

• Must be able to utilize drawings, specs, and other available resources to understand the design build of each project, as the work involves a majority of high mix, low volume custom products.
• Weld, fabricate, and assemble architectural metal products using either TIG or MIG processes.
• Work in accordance with all procedures and instructions in place; complete required paperwork and computer entries as required – ensure accuracy of all entries.
• Maintain clean work environment and keep tools in good working order.
• Assist in fabrication of various projects.
• Support in creating efficient ways to fabricate products.
• Regularly inspect welds and welded parts against drawings and prints.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain punctual attendance and must be able to work overtime as needed. Guaranteed 40-hour work week - any/all overtime will be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance.

Requirements

  • Experience in TIG welding processes is a MUST. MIG welding experience is a plus.

  • Solid understanding of fitting and design build.

  • Must be able to interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and other written/verbal instructions.

  • Knowledge and understanding of working with Aluminum, Stainless Steel, and Mild Steel (able to determine material types and gauges).

  • Basic mathematical skills; able to read a tape measure and caliper.

  • Fundamental computer skills for data entry.

  • Capable of working in a team and utilizing strong problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to operate various pieces of equipment including drill press, vertical band saw, grinders and a multitude of hand tools used in metal fabrication.

  • Able to regularly lift and/or move products and material up to 50 lbs. and work on your feet for extended periods of time.

  • Mandatory that all duties are performed in conjunction with OSHA and MIOSHA requirements.
