ABOUT
Airtec Corporation, formerly known as Airtec Metal Products Company, began as a partnership on October 28, 1936 between C.A. Wines and Harold Blood. The business started in a small garage located on a side street off of West Jefferson in Detroit, Michigan. Initially, Airtec manufactured residential steel storm sash and screens.
Despite the lean years during World War II, Airtec was able to broaden its product line to include screens, storm sash, and combination screens-and-guards for all types of steel and wood windows. In 1946, Airtec constructed its first building on Seven Mile Road in Detroit. Employees were grateful that the new facility had a restroom, whereas the old garage did not. In 1956, Blood had left the partnership allowing Airtec to become incorporated.
By the 1970s, Airtec continued to broaden its role as a distributor by adding hollow metal doors, frames, hardware, and building specialties to its product line. At this time, Airtec established two divisions; Architectural and Manufacturing. These divisions were implemented in order to broaden the product line offerings in the specialized and construction industry.
Today, Airtec is a 4th generation family owned business serving the industrial, architectural, and construction industries, which includes custom metal and mill-work fabrication capabilities. Airtec strives to deliver the same high quality performance and customer service that it has maintained for over 80 years.
